Main Areas of Focus

Neurotypical Support: Expertise

  • Heal Attachment Injuries to Step into Your Full Power

  • Reclaim Yourself to Feel Whole Again

  • Focus on Post-Traumatic Growth & Release Regret

Couples Coaching Approach

Lisa's couples coaching approach utilizes Internal Family Systems and is rooted in attachment science (derived from the scientific theory of human development relative to bonding compatible with emotional processing neuroscience). Lisa ensures that each partner feels equally validated and supported. Her ability to make couples feel at ease comes from a deep understanding that we all can get caught up in coping mechanisms that may have been very helpful in the past but no longer serve us. Couples often struggle to feel "attached" to each other. Lisa works with the couple to break down misunderstandings and assumptions made about each other so deep attachment can be built. She works with her clients to uncover vulnerabilities, fundamental needs, and core beliefs and guides them in cultivating new constructive habits of relating. This approach leads couples to re-establish closeness, admiration, and respect for one another. It is her highest priority to ensure that sessions are very constructive and beneficial.

Adults/Individual Therapy and Coaching

Lisa works with individuals for advanced personal growth, body-mind-spirit alignment, healing and transformation.

LGBTQ+

Additionally, Lisa provides coaching for the LGBTQ couples. She understands the prejudice and discrimination presented to them (from their families and society, personal and impersonal) and the challenges with forming adequate support systems. Her approach is LGB-affirmative  — countering oppressive messaging and not reinforcing the ordinary negative judgments of society.

Neurodiverse Couples

Lisa works with couples in creating safety, teaching effective communications strategies, identifying dysfunctional relational patterns, self-exploration, and awareness of the family of origin experiences that may impact the relationship, breaking the trauma cycle, and healing hurt and resentments.

Interracial and Intercultural

Lisa also works with interracial and other intercultural couples in exploring how these factors influence the way they interact, communicate, and other influence family relations.

Publications

Lisa is also the author of I BELIEVE YOU: How to Thrive Beyond Cassandra Syndrome, which details the nine steps toward healing, clarity, and moving toward post-traumatic- growth. It guides readers toward understanding their experience with their Neurodiverse relationship. It also offers a way to know how one's past directly or symbolically influences their present and how to capitalize on this so one may live according to truth, the present, and their desired future. It emphasizes the capacity for peace and joy through deep self-reflection and tapping into the unconscious when necessary. And into the life-affirming gains that can come from chaos, allowing us to flourish despite and as a result of our trauma.
